The region is home to sprawling parklands, family-friendly recreation areas, beautiful beaches, historic townships, national parks and is the gateway to the Southern Great Barrier Reef. As one of the largest, bulk commodity ports in the world, the Gladstone Region has positioned its strength in large-scale industry, resources and energy, engineering, and advanced manufacturing with a highly skilled workforce. As a destination featuring a natural deep water port, Gladstone has cruise ship docking capabilities and is now a cruise stop-over destination.

Gladstone has a clean future as it is on the path to becoming a renewable energy powerhouse. In 2021, the Queensland Government partnered with leading renewable energy and hydrogen company Fortescue Future Industries to construct the world's largest hydrogen manufacturing facility in Gladstone. This partnership will assist in providing further long-term employment opportunities to the region.

WHY GLADSTONE

Gladstone is a growing region with a projected population of over 75,000 people in 2041. Gladstone has an impressive amount of proposed and planned infrastructure including the Renewable Energy Precinct, Solar Green Hydrogen Plant, Gladstone Energy, and Ammonia Project. The region is home to two of the world's largest alumina refineries, the Boyne Island Aluminium Smelter and the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) industry located on nearby Curtis Island.

Over 2020 to 2021 Gladstone’s median vacant land price increased by 25% and house and land sales increased by 79%. The rental market in the Gladstone region continues to show outstanding growth and vacancy rates remain low. REIQ data revealed Gladstone's median house price growth over 12 months was an impressive 15.7%.
